Unlike most educational software on the market, my goal in directing the animation on Looney Tunes Phonics was to create animation at the exact same level of quality as the original Looney Tunes shorts. For the software, we essentially created new Looney Tunes shorts using the exact style guides provided to us by Warner Bros. Consumer Products. After creating full-turn Flash libraries for characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam, Road Runner and Coyote we were able to freely animate the shorts with a small crew. The potentials for patterning a similar production to this model are limitless, given the access to clean character art.
